   THE SECOND CHINA INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR SINGERS

   (October 25th to November 5th, 2002 Beijing)

   
   GENERAL RULES

   1. The China International Music Competition is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the PR China, including Competition for Singers, Pianists and violinists. Every three years there will be one category. The Organizing Committee is m charge of the whole competition procedure.

   2. The Second China International Competition for Singers will be held in Beijing, China, on the25th of October to the5th of November 2002.

   3. The jury panel of the Second China International Competition for Singers is composed of world-famous musicians. Decisions made in all rounds by the international jury panel are final and unchangeable.

   4. Singers of all nations, male and female, between the age of 18 to 33, (born before the 25th of October, 1984 and after 26th of October,1969) are eligible to apply.

   5. The Competition consists of three rounds, the Preliminary, the Semi-Final and the Final. The number of contestants entering the Semi-Final Round will be one half of the Preliminary Round. No more than12contestants will enter the Final Round-There will be four prizewinners for the male voice group and four prizewinners for the female voice group and two prizewinners of each group for the best performance of the Chinese Art Song. The remaining Finalists will get an Honorary Diploma.

   6. The Organizing Committee reserves the right of a11 the recordings, videos and performances connected with the Competition. Laureates are obliged to participate m May 2003 during the “Meeting in Beijing concerts or in October during the Seventh China Arts Festival in Hangzhou. (Their traveling expenses, room and board during their stay wi11be taken care by the Chinese organizers).
